General Online Shopping
Is shopping online safe?
Security is one of the biggest concerns for those new to internet shopping. Internet shopping is one of the safest ways to shop. The stores listed on our site meet our high shopping standards. Online shopping carts use a secure server and 128 bit encryption for your credit card information. The secure server is protected while information is flowing from your keyboard to the server. The 128 bit encryption means that 128 characters are used to code each number of your credit card. Online shopping is more secure than in-store shopping because your credit card information is public while shopping at a store. A clerk could copy your information, the receipt sometimes shows your credit card info, and the store can retain your credit card information. Meanwhile your information is kept private through encryption when shopping online.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is the nick-name given to the Friday after Thanksgiving. The reason this term was used is because it is the day that retail merchants go from “in the red” to “in the black”. This means that the retail stores are showing a profit. To help boost sales on this day merchants offer deep discounts on “loss leaders”. Loss leaders are products that are highly sought after, that a merchant will heavily discount to get your shopping in their store or on their site with the hopes that you will purchase other products at the same time. The Black Friday sales are very competitive from store to store, the information is often leaked out early for the consumers, but not so early that other merchants can get a preview look at the deals in an effort to give a better deal.
As Black Friday information is leaked, we publish it in our forums under Black Friday followed by the current year. We also archive previous years Black Friday ads so you can know what to expect.
Black Friday was traditionally an “in store only” promotion; however, many savvy merchants have gotten wise and are now offering their promotions online as well. We are also starting to see some merchants take this a step further; they are offering “online only” promotions on Black Friday. Whichever the case, whether in-store or on-line we always show all the promotions available from top merchants on Black Friday.
What is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday is the online counter part to Black Friday. Its all about deals, deals and more deals! Merchants are eager to get shoppers to their site for Christmas shopping, so they offer deep, deep discounts on Cyber Monday. These discounts are usually on highly sought after items. Last year we saw merchants offering discounts on more than 1 Cyber Monday. I think it is safe to say that Cyber Monday is every Monday between Thanksgiving and Christmas where products are still able to ship in time for holiday gift giving.
How long does it take for shipping?
Each merchant is different, and are in different locations. Check the store you are shopping to ensure ship dates and times. Technology has helped merchants to expedite their shipping quickly and efficiently.
