Anybody know a good deal on Mini DVD-RW's & DVD+/- R's? I usually buy at FRY's and not sure what I paid (under $2 each I think) I will check and list the price here when I find it.

Default NEED Blank MD deal (minidisc format)

I am talking about the SQUARE SHAPED recording media- They are similar to FLOPPY DISCS- with the media inside of the square case.
These are not just the smaller round discs I asked about before (NOT mini CD-R,or CD-RW ) It is the SQUARE media that goes in MD recorders

Default ROUTERS from $29.99

Hi Cathy -
Thanks for posting your request- Just saw it and getting right on it trying to help out. Glad to hear you got the Dell computer - I got one of those too- WHAT A GREAT DEAL. I am the one who posted LOW PRICED LAPTOPS thread- so I actually posed the question in the first place. Thanks to DEAL GUY on the specifics - he brought the deal to the table- DEAL GUY and I got to talking soon after and now I am here helping folks find good deals too.

ROUTER DEALS- I have an ad here from CompUSA with several Wireless Routers starting at $29.99 (Item #310378)
(free shipping on all items this week only)

CLICK HERE TO GO TO COMPUSA - then check the brochure
Please do use the links we provide if you get the info here- It helps the MANUFACTURERS see where the customer is coming from and gives us better bargaining power. When they see lots of links from our site - they frequently offer special deals just for us!!
And let us know too when you use our links and make a purchase- just drop a little line and let us know. It helps us to track where the deals are going too- and we can approach the manufacturer and request some special deals to post. Lots of other good things can happen if you let us know- do so and you may be pleasantly surprised one of these days.

I would also watch the ads at Frys or check out www.outpost.com - they usually have some good deals too.

Default Things I have bought because of WYD

Dear Deal Guy and Master-Rebater - thanks to both of you for the info on the router. I just ordered Deal Guy's suggested from Amazon (better price than Master's). So what have I bought in the two weeks I have known this site? The Dell 2200, numerous Cephalon pots (5 in total) from Amazon; a PS2 (son's just broke after 4-5 years the day before Thanksgiving) from Buy.com (had never heard of that site prior to us meeting); a toaster-oven (hey, my husband wants a new one for Christmas) from Amazon; a blender from Walmart (my son thinks he's the new Emeril); numerous ski clothes from Sierra Trading Post. I think that's it, for now anyway. I used all the links contained herein, and I have shared this site with others. Oops, I do need a bag for the laptop. But I am embarassed to be asking you all the time to save me money. I'll search this site to see what's been previously posted. Many, many thanks. These are items I would have bought in a store anyway, but this has helped me immensely.

Default Is Deal Guy's notbook bag too small?

Re: Size of Targus CVR400 Notebook bag

Checked out some reviews for this notebook bag before buying it. All were great except:

A little small for 15" laptops

It's a very tight fit for 15" laptops - maybe I measured wrong?

But I have Dell 6000 Inspiron and it barely fit, almost had to force it into the bag. But otherwise, it's a great bag with lots of storage for spare battery, power supply, pens, notepads, etc..

I want to fit the Dell Inspiron 2200 in this bag (I upgraded this notebook to a 15" display). I don't want it to be such a tight fit for my son that he will trash it. Further help please? And thanks.

From what I have read, it should fit the 2200 without a problem. It fits a 15.4 inch widescreen laptop so it should fit the 2200.

The person who had the 6000, probably had the side pockets overstuffed. That would make it a tight fit then.

Default Got a Laptop Case for $5 at Frys

I have several laptop cases that I own - but saw a deal in Frys on Black Friday for a nice Neoprene Case - Just enough to fit Dell 2200 comfortably- with pockets for supplies for only $5 after rebate. I can also put it into one of my larger cases just to add some cushion. Wish I knew you needed one then.

Default BEST DEALS ON AMAZON

I have not been on AMAZON so much - and being a seeker of the best deals I would like some input on what kinds of things AMAZON has the best deals on.
Lots of times there is a certain niche for a merchandiser. Are there any special. categories where AMAZON has really good values? Any strong points that would be helpful about shopping there. Any input welcome.

Default My thoughts on Amazon

Good, competitive prices. What one has to be very careful about, however, is that not all items are included in Amazon's "free shipping" policy. If Amazon is selling the product, then there is free shipping. However, many times, Amazon goes to another supplier for a product and, if that is the case, the shipping to, for example, Massachusetts where I live, is upward of $7-8. Then I don't buy the product. Before you click the "purchase" button at Amazon, it will show what items, if any, are not included in the free shipping. So you do have an opportunity to cancel. But, as I have learned here, there are too many other places that offer free shipping. But I have bought a ton of stuff through Amazon - books especially.

I would say 95% of the items through Amazon qualify for free shipping. What I like about Amazon is that there are a lot of what I call "super specials" Deals that are incredibly low priced. They usually don't last long, but if you find them quick enough, you can save a lot.
