I've worked with people with CP and down syndrome and all other phyiscal handicaps. My mother runs a Hadicap Program in Anne Arundel County here in Maryland. I have a sister who is down syndrome. I've been working with kids like this since I have about 5. Along with the hadicap program there is a vocational work program my mother and I are involved with. Along with working at the Big Glen Burnie Carnival here where we sell pizza and french fries and work 2 other prize wheels for money to keep these programs running for these kids. There isn't much donation funding for this so it's all provided but bake sales pinics and other raffel games to keep it going. The H.A.P (Hadicap Atheletic Program) started in 1967 with 13 kids involved now the year 2005 has over 300 kids to date in this program but within the years past people have started to fall out of interest to help keep it going. My mother and I and a few other people are still troopers and still fighting to keep it going for these kids to have this program and other things we do to make thesse kids feel a sence of achivement and proud of themselves and what they are doing.
