This is my second year of homeschooling, and my first with The Weaver Curriculum. After completing my first year, I felt that something was lacking. I teach my children at home so that they can learn about God and how He is involved in every area of our lives, but I felt like we were just having a devotional and then moving on to the 'rest' of school. I wanted more for us. Then God led me to The Weaver Curriculum. It has met our needs perfectly. I love how all of the subjects are tied to the Bible. I also love the hands-on activities. My children retain so much because they are actively engaged in learning. We are currently on Volume 1 and looking forward to doing Volume 2 next year!

I had recently pulled my oldest son from the private school he was attending that was using a different curriculm. I was researching several curricula before pulling him, and a friend had suggested LIFEPAC. I was able to acquire the diagnostic tests to see where he was. I was so upset. What were they teaching him? What he was learning there for 7th grade, was 3rd or 4th grade LIFEPAC for several of the subjects! I immediately went and bought LIFEPAC on the lower grade levels so he can be caught up to his grade level by the start of the next school year.

I also pulled out my youngest child and started homeschooling him. He too is behind, but is catching up quickly. They both enjoy learning and being homeschooled, and I can be sure that they are learning what they need to. Thank you very much.

As a grandmother raising three grandchildren, I am so thankful for SOS. As the first day of school was getting closer and closer, I was feeling more and more sick thinking of my granddaughter entering middle school. I had substituted there so I knew what went on. The closer it came the sicker I felt. I finally told my husband I just couldn't send her because I felt like I was sending her to the lion's den. So he agreed to the idea of me homeschooling her. I decided if I was going to teach her I was going to teach her sister and brother too. Needless to say, with three different grades, I felt a little overwhelmed after a few weeks. One night I prayed for God to let me find a curriculum on CDs. The next day I found SOS. I read testimonials and studied the website. I was so excited. I bought the 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade CDs. And I love that they have Bible lessons first thing every day to start them off on the rest of their daily work. I could never have afforded to send the three of them to a Christian school. What an amazing program! After trying several different companies� curriculum, I decided to try Switched-On Schoolhouse, starting with one subject. Well...I'm sold. My daughter is proof that LIFEPACs work. She is a senior in college. She was a national merit scholar finalist as a senior and has attended our public college on scholarship. She has been published twice and all her professors comment on what a marvelous educational foundation she received at home. LIFEPACs allow you to let your children excel in the areas in which they are especially gifted while still acquiring a firm foundation in all subjects. You can make the projects simple or turn them into in-depth research projects depending on your child's needs and tastes. My daughter has had no problem adapting both academically and socially, having been elected president of the honor's college twice now. Homeschooling works and LIFEPACs make it easy.

I just received the new preschool curriculum and it is exactly what I was looking for. The format is easy to follow and still allows for flexibility in the teaching style. The integrated way the lessons flow allows me to add other ideas and studies, but not detract from the overall lessons. This curriculum is absolutely awesome. The colorful pages and activities are very exciting to my preschooler too. I'm so glad you developed this curriculum. It is unique. I looked at several different publishers before purchasing this one. It is by far the most teacher friendly course, and it is very appealing for the child. I love that it can be used for home school or for a classroom setting while still allowing for the homeschooled child to experience the fullness of the lessons. An added benefit is that it is truly created for the preschooler and is not trying to push the child to do work at the kindergarten or first grade level. This builds up the child's self esteem and is a wonderful atmosphere for learning. I wish I had been able to use it for my other children.

I was introduced to SOS by a dad of a child actor. He praised the ability to be mobile with a laptop that SOS offered. I enjoy allowing my son's ability to move around and reset due dates and re-do exercises if needed. I also love the fact he and my daughter are learning 21st century technology which many schools are touching upon or trying to incorporate in response to school reform and future use of technology. I especially am impressed and grateful for the technical support staff. As a small business owner, I needed the help SOS offers. It's like having an assistant or tutor right in your home.

I absolutely love Alpha Omega Publications! My daughter and I enjoy learning together through the wonderful LIFEPACs. We really love the Bible LIFEPACs. It takes us deeper through each Bible story and teaches us how to apply it to our lives. We have also enjoyed the History LIFEPACs where you visit each state and learn the different things each state has to offer. The LIFEPACs sent us on field trips to the grocery store which was so much fun. We have made wonderful recipes together, suggested by the lessons. We have also enjoyed the Science experiments in the LIFEPACs. The lessons break down the information so we can easily understand the literature. This helps me as the teacher because Science was never my strong suit. I could go on and on raving about AOP, but you will just have to see for yourself. Keep it up AOP! We are counting on you!

I searched for a Bible curriculum and found what I needed in LIFEPACs. My daughter just finished the 2nd grade series. A few months ago she came to Jesus. I believe that AOP LIFEPACs played a role. Just a few weeks before, the lessons discussed salvation, and we stopped and discussed how to be saved. I ended by explaining to my daughter that now wasn't the time, but that one day, probably very soon, she would feel a tug at her heart and she would know that she needed to act then. My daughter really liked the no pressure approach.

A couple of months later, after church one evening, my daughter came to me and said, 'Mommy, I want to ask Jesus in my heart right now.' I was totally caught off guard. I started going over the verses and explaining things again. I looked at her and asked, 'Do you want me to just be quiet and let you pray?' She said that she did, and asked if she had to pray outloud. I told her that she didn't, but that I sure would love to hear her pray. She prayed. It was a prayer of thanks. Rather than asking Jesus in, she thanked him for coming in and rather than asking him to forgive her, she thanked him for forgiving her. This was totally GOD and HER. I am so thankful that I was able to witness this special moment for my daughter.

We all enjoyed the Bible lessons this year. We learned about what Joseph's family was like, and how they ate. My only regret is that I didn't make this more of a family part of the school day. Toward the end, I involved my highly motivated kindergartener, who loved listening in on the stories.

Our family recently discovered SOS (Switched-On Schoolhouse) and is so thankful for the discovery! We have been homeschooling our three blessings for six years now and have been using a very good program; but we had constant problems, because our curriculum was textbook based. One of the problems we had was that I didn't have time to plan lessons, grade papers, make sure they each had their own tests when they were due, etc. With SOS, we don't have those problems any longer! Our kids know what their lessons are each day, when tests are coming up, etc. They can even work ahead if they choose. Their daily work, quizzes, and tests are right there for them, and their grades are computed by the program. It has been an absolute blessing from God! As parents we feel more organized, more in control, and the kids are having fun again too! We just can't say enough about SOS! I am a homeschool Mum from the mid-north of South Australia. I have two children, aged 9 and 12. We have been homeschooling for nearly four years, using textbooks for the first three years. We found that, while the books were really good, there was a definite lack of 'hands-on' learning, and no time left for excursions or for doing the fun things that make homeschooling worthwhile. We also found that, while both of our children could do really well in a test (100% most of the time), when we asked them the same questions in a couple of months' time, they had forgotten much of what they had learned.

I have found that their level of retention has increased dramatically with Weaver's 'Unit Study' method; and, best of all, our children are enjoying schoolwork once again. My husband and I have really enjoyed doing things with our children, too. My husband has been actively involved with teaching the children on several occasions, and he no longer feels that he could not take an active part in the education of our children. My darling husband has also done experiments on magnetism and electricity with our children (something that there simply wasn't time for with textbook study). We have had fun making volcanoes and having them explode, making sugar cube houses, drawing the Town Hall (all of the family did it!), drawing one of the local churches, and making old-time Bible oil lamps; and both of our children actually prepared, cooked, and served dinner for us. Prior to the meal, they wrote the menu and name cards in Italian. They also cleaned up afterward and did the dishes!

We have now found that we CAN teach outside of textbooks. We have been extremely impressed with Weaver; and the service that we have received from AOP has been nothing short of excellent. We have plans to use Weaver for the remainder of our children's schooling. What a fantastic product!

Horizons Math is the only curriculum that I don't feel I need to question each year. I started using something else for my son in K5 and then switched to Horizons in 1st grade. Since then, I have used it consistently and know that it is thorough. It's simple for me to teach and I have been very happy with it. I started my 5 year old daughter on it this year and she loves it.

I had already been homeschooling for nine years when a friend told me about Switched-On Schoolhouse. It couldn't have come at a better time. I had become so overwhelmed by the workload required to homeschool three children that I didn't know how I could keep going. The daily grading and weekly lesson-planning amounted to a 20-hour per week job....on top of time spent teaching and the normal schedule of a housewife and mother! I desperately needed a change.

Switching to 'SOS' was the best homeschooling decision I ever made! It has been six years since we made that change, and I will never go back! I will never go back to the hours of lesson-planning or to the tedious grading. I will never go back to wondering if my children are learning enough. I will never again wander vendor booths at homeschool conventions looking for 'the perfect curriculum'. I FOUND IT!

I began using SOS because I thought it would be a great change for me; but it has turned out to be the best thing for my children, too. I've made a lot of mistakes during my fourteen years as a homeschooling mom, but switching to SOS was definitely NOT one of them!! My family first started with LIFEPACs when we moved from Australia back to Colorado; but our daughter was 'lonesome' so she went back to school. After two years of that she was ready to homeschool again. We started with her two favorite subjects in Switched-On Schoolhouse - Science and History; and we bought a few different workbooks over the internet to try out some of the other subjects. We moved to Europe as missionaries just prior to our second year homeschooling, and tried the curriculum most use there, not good! So after a frustrating time, we went back to SOS. So our third year was all SOS, and now we embark upon our fourth year and our daughter looks like she's completely closed all the gaps in Math and Lanugage Arts, enjoys all her subjects, and is now taking more responsibility for her schedule and workload. This year we're going to try one lesson of Math and Language Arts each morning, and then finish the rest of the day with whatever subject she likes and continue to work in 'blocks'. SOS's calendar makes this so perfect because I can rework it and keep her on track during the year. You don't have to do every subject every day if your child can't keep the concentration level up. You can focus on one subject and help them learn so they retain the information during that day, then tackle another subject the next day. It�s not conventional, I know, but it works! Be blessed not stressed, and have fun!

What I like about SOS is that I don't have to worry about forgetting to hand in my homework. It takes a ton of stress off my mom and my whole family, since we go on a lot of trips and we can do homework while traveling. I also like that no homework whatsoever is off the computer unless you as the parent tell your kid(s) to figure out problems on paper. I usually get done with each subject after 15-30 minutes because I can left-click on the mouse and click speak and the computer starts reading the lesson while I read along. I decided to write this because SOS is so fun. It is much, much easier for my mom and my family, and takes away all of the stress of not getting to spend much time together and having lots of homework. So if you are a Christian homeschooler and don't have enough time to help your kid(s) with homework and other things then I recommend you use this program.

This is my first year of homeschooling, and after much prayer and consideration, I selected The Weaver Curriculum. It has allowed me to have both of my children learning about the same topics at the same time, at their own individual levels. Prior to beginning homeschooling, I thought I knew how my son would best learn. I thought it would be with workbooks and lots of reading. I am homeschooling my two oldest boys, ages 6 and 8. Last year they were both in public school and their teachers felt both of them should be held back. I disagreed and decided to homeschool. I worried because we didn't get started until a month and a half after school starts out here. We use Horizons Math for both boys and Phonics for the oldest. I could not be happier! Last year my oldest boy just didn't seem to 'get' math. When we started, he spent well over an hour on math every day; but now he flies through it, and my once insecure child feels proud of his improvements. My oldest boy also failed reading in public school, but with Horizons Phonics & Reading he is excelling! He has not missed a single answer and he loves the reader. I could not be happier with Horizons!

When my husband and I were raising support to go to overseas as missionaries, I started looking for homeschooling materials for our children. I love Weaver's Interlock. My daughter and I are having so much fun. We are in our 14th year of home educating our five children. My husband has wanted us to use a traditional textbook approach to our schooling up until this point. This worked fairly well with the exception of a huge overload of bookkeeping for me. The problem increased significantly the last two years as our chilren moved up in their grades. It got to the point where I was completely stressed out and overwhelmed with all the grading. We were contemplating puting out children in private school even though the cost of that was a huge burden on us. The DAY BEFORE I had a scheduled visit to the school, the AOP catalog came in the mail. I could not believe my eyes as I read about SOS. All I can say is a big thanks! My 4th grader was struggling this year in math so much there were daily tears. I checked out the AOP website and was looking into switching to Horizons. After downloading the placement test for her I was contacted by an AOP representative. WOW! I started using SOS in 7th grade. I am now in tenth grade and I love it! I have epilepsy and it caused me to miss a lot of school and as a result, get failing grades. With SOS, I have all As and my parents love it. With Christianity taken out of the schools as much as they have and all of the crazy stuff that goes on in schools, Switched-On Schoolhouse is amazing! I am writing to tell you of the wonderful experience I have had with the your curriculum. I began homeschooling my thirteen-year-old son when he was four years old and in preschool. We tried many methods, styles, and materials throughout the years. I always felt drawn to LIFEPAC and SOS materials. After prayerful consideration, we have spent two very happy and successful years using these materials. I have found the Switched-On Schoolhouse lessons to be engaging and interesting. Subjects that I would not have had the time or ability to teach him personally have been studied with confidence, creating an independent learner. SOS helps me a lot. I have been homeschooled for seven years. My mom pulled me out of public school when I was in the fourth grade. Now sucssessfully I am in the eleventh grade making As and Bs. I'm on, I guess you call it, the honor roll. I love the Christian aspect of SOS because around here other schools make children believe they came from monkeys. I rate a trillion points to SOS because they're there to teach you what you need. I believe everybody should be homeschooled because there is no school like home. I do have to say SOS is getting me ready for my future job (I'm planning on doing two majors at one time to learn things like cosmetology and nursing/working with children).

Looking back now, as a graduating senior in college, I thank the Lord for two things about my high school education. The first is that He pushed my parents to homeschool me. The second is that they found SOS! For me as an active kid I loved that SOS was on the computer making it very interactive. Honestly, SOS made school a learning experience and not a chore! Each year I was in SOS, which was all of junior high and high school, SOS came up with new ideas for the program including games and videos which are the absolute sweetest especially in science. SOS helped my parents teach me the things I needed to know to give me the opportunities I have today. Will SOS prepare a student for college? Well, SOS was my primary curriculum and now I am true senior graduating college after 4 years with a B.S. in Accountancy and a 3.7 GPA. A major aspect of life and college that SOS teaches along with the parents is the responsibilty of getting work done on your own initiative. Parents may not think about how a curriculum could teach students to operate within a schedule and plan work, yet SOS teaches these things through how the curriculum is designed. Whenever I meet a younger student who is using SOS I give them a high five and ask them what new features the program has because I absolutely loved it. One day while in the third grade, my daughter came home crying after taking a state examination stating that she didn't know the answers to several of the questions.
