| 03/23/05 Greetings, I just subscribed, and in the process of checking my Profile and Options, discovered the option of adding a "personal" or "custom" Avatar. However, I could not find a way to upload my "personal" Avatar, and the information in the FAQ was of no use in this area. Do I have to obtain permission from the Administrator, or are a certain number of Posts required to have a "custom" Avatar? If anyone can tell me where I can upload a custom or "personal" Avatar, I would definitely appreciate "directions" (instructions - the details?) - thank you! BTW, I found the page for uploading a personal photo, and I substituted my Avatar image for the photo - if an Administrator reads this, and you need to "approve" my Avatar, you can see it in the "slot" for my personal photo on my Profile - thank you again! | 03/23/05 Hi, Sorry - still cannot find any way to "select" or choose to display and/or upload a custom Avatar - when I click on "Avatar Category:", only one option is offered in the drop-down menu - "Generic Avatars". I have not been able to locate any link, drop-down menu, or other option that provides access to, or selection of, a custom or personal Avatar. BTW, "Show Avatars" is checked in "Options". Also, the only way to "uncheck" the box next to "Do not use an Avatar" is to select one of the Generic Avatars. Thank you again...

| 03/23/05Hello Kim,I checked it out, but no change so far - tried closing my browser, clearing my cache - also deleted all cookies, and then reopened my browser (default browser is Firefox 1.0, but I also opened my User CP and "Edit Avatars" using Internet Explorer 6, but it made no difference). The options available in the "Edit Avatar" window do not appear to have changed - there is no "new box", nor is there a new option in the "drop-down" menu where "Generic Avatars" still appears as the only option provided under "Avatar Category:" ??? Thank you for trying - perhaps you can check to find out if any/every one else is seeing the "new box", or if I'm the only one having the "problem"...I had two root canals this afternoon, so I'm definitely ready to "call it a day" - but will be sure to check things out first thing in the morning, and will let you know if anything changes - thank you again, and have a good evening!

| Daniel, You will be happy to know that you can now upload your very own avatar! *YAY* Thanks for your persistance and patience. I was finally able to see what I did that caused the option to disappear. Again, I thank you for bringing this to my attention! Last edited by DealGuy : 03-28-2005 at 10:50 PM. |

| 03/28/05 Greetings Kim, Hope you got some rest over the weekend - and thank you very much for your persistence in this matter. As you have probably already noticed, my Avatar is "up and flying" proudly on the site - BTW, speaking of my Avatar (a Dragon), did you happen to see the wonderful two hour special, "Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real" - on the Animal Planet over either of the last two weekends? Top Biologists, Zoologists, and a whole bunch of other "ologists" were put together by the folks at Discovery Channel, and they created this absolutely incredible special on "how it could be" and "what if" dragons did, in fact, exist...starting with the premise it must be more than coincidence that cultures as diverse as the Far East, the Incas, Aztecs, and other tribes of Central and South America, and cultures throughout Europe - after acknowledging the fact that these widely separated geographical areas, with absolutely no contact with one another, ALL had EXTENSIVE DRAGON MYTHS, and their descriptions of these creatures were so extremely similar - it simply defies explanation. And away they went... they "grabbed the ball and ran with it"! The digital special affects were breathtaking, and the entire two hour program was absitively posilutely phenomenal - if you missed it, we can only hope it will be repeated again in the near future, and you will have another chance - if it ever comes out on DVD, I will make an exception to my "rule" about buying such things, and definitely purchase a copy! Again, thank you very much for seeing the Avatar business through, and have a terrific week!

| Daniel, I completely agree with you that Dragons existed. Consider this... we have the bones from "dinosaurs" but what were those called BEFORE they were called dinosaurs? If you check your websters, the word dinosaur was invented in 1841. In addition if you check the older websters, such as 1600's you would find exact instructions on how to kill a dragon in the definition for dragon. The bible also identifies 2 such dragons. Leviathan and Behemoth. The evidence that supports that humans lived with large reptile like creatures is unbelievable. The only thing that goes against this evidence is the theory of evolution, which, of course, is still just a theory. If you want more info on this, I will be happy to send you the info. Kim |
